Logo Design History

1. Apple:
-          The logo showed a small apple sitting under a tree with Apple Computer Co set into the frame of the picture.
-          The original version was replaced with the rainbow colored logo and it brings to mind that people must pursue their dreams.
2. Google:
-          Google is known as a strong leader of the web-search industry and its goal is to provide relevant information to its customers.
-          Every once in a while the company uses different features of the logo to refer to illustrators birthdays or holidays.

3. McDonald’s:
-          The golden arches of McDonalds “M” are one of the strongest most recognizable logos of our day and the arches symbolize a place to hide under to escape.
-          Like Coca-Cola and Nike, McDonald’s logo has been seen more broadly as a symbol of capitalism or globalization since they are the most famous American corporation.
4. Starbucks:
-          The worldwide coffee fact is that Starbucks first began in 1971 when the founders opened their first store.
-         The logo shows the lady and the water dates back to the old sailor tradition of transporting coffee and coffee trade.

Comparison Blog Post
1.     Best Buy and the Apple Store are very different from each other because the Apple Store only sells things that are made by Apple and Best Buy sells products made by company. Apple Store is has products you can test out before you buy them, while Best Buy jus has products you can look at and not use.
2.     When you buy stuff at Best Buy they ask you if you want to pick it up or to ship it to you, while Apple Store it just ships it to you they don’t have any other choice. Apple store just sells products they made, while Best Buy sells products from every other company. Best Buy has products for cars, iPods, phones, and more, while the Apple Store just has phones, iPods, tvs that are made by Apple.

Web picks Blog Post
1.     Converse.com
2.     The main points of the article is about how the new converse website has changed a lot to focus more on art, music, fashion, and the skate culture. The new converse website wants to stay true to the audience of creative minds and optimistic rebels by making the site more intuitive shopability and smart merchandising. The new website gives each product its own self expression.
3.     I found that the new converse website brings the focus on art, music, fashion, and skate culture together and that the new website stays true to its audience of creative minds most interesting about the article.
4.     I think the whole article would be good to use as a future project because this article had a lot of good information and it explained how the new website was different from the one before.
